DISCOVER OUR SELECTION OF THE RIBEIRA SACRA DESIGNATION OF ORIGIN

The Mencía prefered by all

The most consumed Galician red wine and is awarded year after year in the most important national and international competitions.

Our most special Edition

Our most special edition has remained in French, American and Caucasian oak barrels for six months to fuse the varietal characteristics of Mencía with wood. A memory of Manolo Arnoya, paying tribute to his person and his legacy.

The continuity of a legacy

A modern and current wine named after one of the founder’s granddaughters Manolo Arnoya, this brand gives continuity to the family legacy, its label is inspired by a forest fairy, a young woman on her seesaw, surrounded by the idyllic landscapes of the Ribeira Sacra.

The freshness of Ribeira Sacra

This vegan wine, 100% Godello, is the freshness of course of the Sil river, the essence that runs along the slopes of Ribeira Sacra, connecting both edges only by small rows of stone formed by the majesty of its waters.

Bodegas Gallegas Group

Bodegas Gallegas was founded more than 60 years ago as a personal project by Manuel Vázquez, known locally as "Manolo Arnoya," and has grown ever since, maintaining the same family-style, traditional character and a shared goal: a passion for wine. Currently, his son, Manuel, and daughter, Myriam, lead the group, which currently is formed by five wineries across Galicia, three of which are located in the most important Designations of Origin: Rectoral do Umia, located in the Rías Baixas DO, Alanís, in the Ribeiro DO, and Rectoral de Amandi, belonging to the Ribeira Sacra DO.

“NEW WINES IN THE RIBEIRA SACRA MADE WITH NATIVE YEAST, SELECTED LACTIC BACTERIA AND MANNOPROTEINS EXTRACTED FROM OWN LEES”

The objective of the project is to obtain new wines within the D.O. High-quality Ribeira Sacra with the natural microbiota of the winery, vineyard and wine itself, where the aromas and natural nuances of the grape itself prevail.

During the years of the project, the winery has carried out different tests with its own yeasts, lactic acid bacteria and mannoproteins, which have been selected and produced in order to make wines with them, from different varieties of the Ribeira Sacra.

Results: Currently there are 5 interesting yeasts to make their wines, 3 lactic acid bacteria and 2 mannoproteins.
